I have been trying to find the definitive mintage numbers for American Silver Eagle Bullion Coins I have stumbled across two different sets of numbers: - The top set of numbers (from the Redbook and SilverEagleGuide website) shows the 1994 as the 2nd lowest mintage. - The bottom set of numbers (from the MintNewsBlog website) shows the 1994 as only the 6th lowest mintage. (Many of the mintages shown are very different!) Does anyone know if either the Mint News Blog or The Redbook are more official (more accurate)? No idea why these 2 sets of numbers are so different. Does anyone know which of these sets of numbers is correct? From the Silver Eagle Guide (http://silvereagleguide.com/mintages/) These numbers are also same as the Redbook of U.S. Coins Mintage figures for American Silver Eagle Bullion Coins 1986 5,393,005 1987 11,442,335 1988 5,004,646 1989 5,203,327 1990 5,840,110 1991 7,191,066 1992 5,540,068 1993 6,763,762 1994 4,227,319 (2nd lowest mintage) 1995 4,672,051 1996 3,603,386 1997 4,295,004 1998 4,847,549 1999 7,408,640 2000 9,239,132 2001 9,001,711 2002 10,539,026 2003 8,495,008 2004 8,882,754 2005 8,891,025 2006 10,676,522 2007 9,028,036 2008 20,583,000 2009 30,459,000 From the Mint News Blog (http://mintnewsblog.blogspot.com/search/label/Silver%20Eagles) Silver Eagle Bullion Coin Sales 1986 5,096,000 1987 9,420,000 1988 5,869,000 1989 6,166,000 1990 7,247,000 1991 6,952,000 1992 5,544,000 1993 5,890,000 1994 5,540,500 (6th lowest mintage) 1995 4,590,000 1996 3,466,000 1997 3,636,000 1998 4,320,000 1999 9,008,500 2000 9,133,000 2001 8,827,500 2002 10,475,500 2003 9,153,500 2004 9,617,000 2005 8,405,000 2006 10,021,000 2007 9,887,000 2008 19,583,500 2009 28,766,500 2010 32,790,500*

Thank you so much GDJ ... that's fantastic. I bookmarked those links. So the answer is the Mint News Blog is off their rocker!
No, the Mint updates their mintage figures all the time. If you are going by these blogs, they are siting sales figures from week-to-week as published by the Mint. Different sources will end up with different citations. The Mint may revise the mintage numbers the following day, week, month, year or even later. Mint News Blog and others are ONLY citing US Mint reported sales. Just look at publications like the Red Book, there are no final mintage figures for coins issued in the last couple years, in part because these publications have such advanced printing deadlines and the mintages are not known, not final, and so not published.
Those links and many others like them have been right here on CT for years. You just to take the time to look for them. You can find them in the Numismatic Resources section.
That is indeed a fantastic and under utilized section of CT full of wonderful links. The only problem is that the threads in there were created quite some time ago and one needs refresh the "Thread Display Options" on that page to see everything you have posted there. I highly recommend people explore these links!
