My mom has recently gotten into the habit of checking her pocket change for RADARs since she read something about them in the local paper. She also collects the state quarters and things like that. I'm not a collector, but I've been reading the forums here to help her out and told her about star notes and low serial numbers and she's been looking for those as well. For Christmas, I want to give her a stack of 100 $1 bills and slip a RADAR in there so she can get excited that she found one. Do most coin collecting shops sell those? I'd also like to get her a book about collecting, but most seem to be aimed toward advanced collectors. I was looking for something more along the lines of what to look for in your modern pocket change. She's not good at using the computer so a book that she could reference and learn from would be great (paper or coin currency). Any other ideas or book suggestions? She's very hard to shop for.
