Hello, i want to know what this coin is? i know its Greek, it weighs 4.30 Gr and i want to know if its worth anything. Thanks, Thomas.
I see you are posting a lot of coins for identification and value. In case you didn't read the thread recommended for such things a week or two ago, here's the link again: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/ancient-coins-beginners’-faq-thread.324858/ To get you started for the coin shown above, the first three letters of the issuing city name are on the reverse.
As TIF suggested, the transliteration of the visible part of the ethnic on the reverse, THES, is the key to unlocking the origins of your 2nd-1st century BC coin of a certain Greek league/confederacy. Not a bad looking coin but not rare or particularly valuable.
I'll add that the horse on the reverse is pretty typical of coins from this area. Notice that there is no rider on the horse.
