I posted this in the Newest Acquisitions thread and at that time I thought this was a 1903 Kiang-Nan Province 10 Cash Coin.

Well...after looking at it more and figuring out which characters were the date I am now thinking this is dated 1902.

So is this a 1902? If so is this a "Large Manchu Characters" variety?

    Thanks...Mont.

I don't know much about Chinese coins, but what's that above the dragon? Lamination error?

It looks like 1902 to me. Can’t help much with the large or small character debate. I’d say small.

Looks like one to me. IMG_0002.JPG

I got a bunch of world coins for less than 10 cents each. This was one of them.

So I take it the one that NGC Price guide has listed as Y# 135.2 is actually Y# 135 or Y# 135.1. One of the no date varieties.

Look here for a list of the different varieties for 1902.

If this is a small character it would be Y# 135.2 If Large it would be Y# 135.3
