Need help picking hotel for FUN Show - Tampa

Can anyone please recommend a decent, safe, and reasonably priced motel somewhat near the FUN Show? I have never been to Tampa and I don't want to end up in some crack infested neighborhood. I don't plan on buying many coins but I can't have a hole in my bling collection. Thanks.

I wish I could help but I would just use google.

Oh I understand. Google can only go so far Somethings you just need to have been there to get good ideas for.
Rick it say's your from Central Fl, I bet your wishing it was back in Orlando right now.

Yep - I wish it was in Orlando this winter since it is only a 1 hour drive. It only took me 5 years to figure out how to get there without getting lost. According to mapquest it's a hour and 45 minute drive each way to Tampa.

If it were me, Embassy Suites Convention Center - $159/nt. with free breakfast and cocktails in the evening.

I think all the FUN recommended hotels are sold out.... or at least 2 of the 3 were about a month ago. I was still able to get a room at the Hyatt.
