I have a group of coins I believe are a mixture of Turkish and Egyptian, and am having difficultly iding even one single coin so far - I can't even tell which ones are Turkish or Egyptian and separating them into groups. Can anyone help? From my research both countries coins of the era look nearly identical - it's proving to be a near impossible task for me!

Any help or pointer to useful resources would be much appreciated.

The two big copper coins are from Egypt, 10 para coins dated 1277 (1861) year 10.
    The others are from Turkey.

The two large coins at the top are Egypt 20 Para dated 1277 (AD 1861)

The top left silver coin has no reverse picture.
The top right silver coin is Egypt 10 para AH 1277.

The five bottom coins are from left to right:
    1 - Egypt 1/10 Piastre copper-nickel AH 1327 (AD 1909)
    2 - Turkey 2 Kurus silver AH 1327
    3 - Turkey 1 Kurus silver AH 1327
    4 - Turkey 1 Kurus silver AH 1255
    5 - Turkey Yirmicik billon AH 1255

On the dates, note that the date Willieboyd mentioned is a sort of frozen date. It's the year that the ruler's reign started. There's a number on the other side that represents the year of the reign. So if it's 10 it's the tenth year of that ruler's reign.

The Egyptian coins all bear the mint name Misr ("Egypt"): مصر.

The others all share the mint name Qustantiniyah (Constantinople): قسطنطينية.

Tremendous. Thank you so much for going the extra distance for me and actually identifying these hitherto mysterious coins. Excellent work, and best answer. Thanks again!
