    Hello All.

I have the following note that I have been having difficulty identifying. I am unable to find this note in Don Kelly's Obsolete Paper Money from 2018. Please review the images below. Any information is greatly appreciate.

    Thank You.

I was only able to find one other example. The auction description lists out a Scrip. It’s the same design but from approximately 16 years earlier.

Thank you for the info @SteveInTampa

I am curious if the 1856 note that I have is listed separately in the Wolka reference. Does anyone have access to either version of the Wendell Wolka reference, A History of Indiana Obsolete Bank Notes and Scrip? I would imagine it is listed separately considering the design changes with the addition of a red color “ONE” in the background, etc.

Thank you again for the information @SteveInTampa

I was able to locate some examples on Heritage Auctions website that match the issue I have. Note how the signature is different because of a partnership that was made. Below are the two examples I found (one in pretty rough shape and the other is average circulated).

    Thank You.

@StevenHarden , just an FYI; I believe your example #2 would grade:
Wolka "truly wretched" as opposed to "woefully wretched". LOL
