I completely agree and though I've never met Larry, his reputation certainly precedes him. There are no grading services that I agree with on every assigned grade, and I'm sure there never will be.

@SuperDave I had to look up ROFL on Google. I think there is a direct positive correlation between age-lack of familiarity with abbreviations-prostate problems forcing us to get up at night.

Well if PCGS agrees with the grade, it's at least a 16 or 17K question.

 

I am both cognizant of such acronyms and hateful of the older man's bladder, but - unfortunately - the latter came to me far more easily than the former. And you're hardly a Luddite - you knew to take it straight to Google.

I'm not one for strongly advising that a coin get into PCGS' hands, but this one's an exception to the rule. It's not that I distrust SEGS' ability to appropriately evaluate the coin, not in the same sense that we would a kitchen-table slabber, but this one would be one of the publicized highlights of most major auctions and would require the strongest-possible affirmation of its' grade.
