Hi all I need assistance with your thoughts on one of my Morgan's to see if you think this qualifies as a coin that would be worth having graded. It has several identifiers from which I compared on vam world 1D III2 1 - C3a (Small O, Dot at Eye) (176) I-2 R-5

How would we know? It would be nice if we could see photos of both sides of the entire coin.

If that is all that is left of the coin, no. Don't grade it.

Um, you haven't even mentioned the date on the coin. It would be difficult for us to help with attribution if we don't even know the coin's date...

Thank you. As an 1880-O, your coin would need to grade at least MS63 to meet my personal litmus test of $150 value in the slab to justify grading. The VAM itself - I'll take your word on the attribution - isn't an added-value one (indeed, it's likely the same die pair as VAM-32 so even more common than currently considered) so one must depend purely on grade value. 1880-O is a better date in Mint State, which helps, but is common in circulated grades.
