Hey so I was unrolling rules of nickels that I got from the bank ,and I saw this puppy fall out, is this the fabled 1937 d three legged buffalo nickel that worth almost 100,000 like there's no way that just fell on my lap right!!! like I'm looking at that correct??please could someone help bust my bubble haha and give me some information on this as soon as possible because if I believe what I believe I have been freaking amazing but I don't want to get my hopes up so what are y'all think does it look like the three-legged buffalo nickel and should I send it off to get graded and authenticated?
Can you take a close-up of the Indian? Rferences say that all 3-legged buffalo nickels have what looks like acid or metal deterioration on the back of his neck just below the hair line. Just look at Ebay cer'd nickels for sale. Your mintmark looks odd as well.
Here are mine. I have the front OK, but I would have to search for for the photos of the buffalo on the reverse. They still looks like a partial front leg on the animal, so I avoided those. The photo was taken years ago. Jim
Here are now updated photos after I took acetone and a qtip to it, took off the green gunk that was o. This forehead thoughts on these pictures
Better Pics. ! Looks good to me although I'm no expert on the matter. Just what I saw a few minutes ago online and it's probably worth what @Collecting Nut said.

That first link specifically calls out "E and P in E PLURIBUS UNUM touching the buffalo" and "strong detail in the hindmost leg" as tells for a fake. Alas, both are present in the OP's photos.
Absolutely 100 % FAKE! All pups are missing... The leg was tooled...as you can see the medal has been moved on the surface....and the rear leg should appear moth eaten and a stream of pee seen coming from the animal...two pups that cannot be faked! And that's why it was in a roll of nickels....Sorry but no bannana.
