    Recently found a 1972 DDO
    NGC Graded as...
    FS-103 IMPROPERLY CLEANED
    UNC DETAILS
....Knowing the value has been diminished, what should I invest in this coin, if any??

General rule of thumb: avoid problem coinage, it'll save you the headache when it comes time to resell, if that time ever arises.

I'm not a Lincoln or error collector, so someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but collector's aren't exactly foaming at the mouth for a 1972 DDO with uncirculated details. It's rare, but not that rare, and certainly not worth the hassle of buying a problem coin.

If you're curious about what the market is, I'd search through eBay's completed listings and see what comparable examples have sold for.

DDO-003s aren't worth much to begin with. Even less so since this one is damaged. Between them and 007, they are the most common.
I wouldn't "invest" in the coin in question at all.

    Thank you for the advise.
    Much appreciated.
I will stay away from this one.

Not much. It's one of the many, and a very common one, variety.
