Thought you all might enjoy hearing this story. My dad collected coins off and on through his early 30s. Then he got into other hobbies and never really went back to it. He does other stuff now. Anyway, he kept his nicer coins at the bank and another set in a very heavy briefcase. About 10 years ago he decided to sell off his junk 90% silver...not much. Couple rolls of Washington quarters and a few rolls 46-64 dimes. He gave me everything else. Couple mint sets, few rolls of buffalo nickels, few rolls of Mercury dimes, and a big gob of pennies. I looked through some of it, but quickly. I was working 34958739483 hours a week and in school, so I put it away and kind of forgot about it. Last winter I started to sort through all of that stuff. I went through all the rolls except the 10 or so that were labled as newer wheat pennies or memorial pennies. Something told me tonight to do more searching. So I dumped out the roll that said "1960-1963 cents" and was immediately greeted with a 1923 wheatie. Got my hopes up. Then I noticed a few Indian head cents. I was already stoked when I noticed the 1876 in F-VF. I know it's not an 1877, but still a beautiful Indian head worth at least $60. This just happened, so I still have all the other labled rolls to check. Hopefully the good luck keeps coming! Thanks for reading.
