Hey all I came across a five dollar bill with a near solid serial number....Off hand I believe the serial is 22222224 The bill is in ok condition a few minor tears in the paper but isnt crumpled and I have it in the middle of my appointment book so it flattens out nicely...How much does a near solid serial number bill go for? I want to bring to a local coin shop Ive seen solid serials go for 500 or more but I doubt mine will be any where near that considering its not full solid being 7/8 solid. Thanks for your help all
Near solid in my book is not a fancy serial number. It either is or it's not. IMHO it's only worth face value.
Uncirculated 7 of a kind notes sell all day long for $35-$40. If your notes has tears then I wouldn't want it....maybe someone would, but not me. http://www.tickleyourfancycurrency.com/SevenofakindFORSALE.htm
I have a 5$ bill with 95555555 what do you think uts worth. Very good condition have pics too.. thanks
Please post photos of both sides. With 7 digits on a row it should bring around $20-$25 but that all depends on condition. Any ink, folds or creases will lower the value. Crispness will add a little.
Heritage sells these all the time....they're pretty popular....I think they can cost a bit more, total cost as I recall (I can double-check) was closer to $75-$100.
If you buy new bills like this.....graded PMG 66 and above....at auction....total cost is going to run at least $75 I believe. Raw, ungraded on Ebay...yeah, maybe 1/2 that.
Paddyman is spot on here. It is or it isn’t. They don’t give you a “near solid” pedigree at PMG when you send it in for grading. The only way that’s going to be a hot sale item is at a 63 or better IMO.
It’s not a hot sale, BUT it is an easy sale. 5 of a kind and above will sell easily for a profit over face value.
Well, sort of like being "a little pregnant"; either you is or you ain't. Oh, to any who may be offended: mea culpa; apologies all around.
Solid serial number it ain’t! Period. Does it have value above face? Yes. There is always a buyer for these notes. Get rich? No!
