[QUOTE="afox, post: 3375784, member: 4934"]Welcome to CT. I have been searching for nicer, circulated quarters since the state quarters (so many years). I find some joy in searching through boxes of quarters that I get from the bank too. I'll get a box every couple of months from the bank. It's pretty common to find a very nice quarter. I've filled a Whitman folder with my finds. Not everyone has the patience for this. And, to what end? For me, I'm happy to fill the Whitman with my finds. I found a Western buddy (I'm near Boston) here in CoinTalk (there is a trade forum) to exchange P's for D's. I travel quite a bit too so I generally find the D's. Having said that, I have been buying the rolls from the mint for many years (it's a bit pricey). I'm sitting on them, unopened. In a couple of years, when the Park quarters are done, I plan on opening them all and having a look. At that time, I'll probably put them in sets and sell them. Who knows what's in the rolls. That will take some time! Folks on this board can certainly relate to what I'm doing. Everyone has their own way of approaching this hobby. No one in my family has the same appreciation that I have for the hobby. My son, who lives in SF, sent me a text the other day. He told me that he got a nice, shiny coin in his change recently and he thought of me. I choose to only think of that in a nice way. You will find many older threads about similar topics (and this topic specifically).
