NAAAA you can't tell this coin was ALTERED..1815 cent

    This one I won't blame on China. This was "Snuffy Smith" in a garage. 1815 altered from 1845 cent obv.jpg 1815 altered from 1845 cent rev..jpg 1815 cent altered from 1845 cent.jpg

    Notice the gentle splashes of scoring across the face? Could it be that Freddy Krueger once took this elusive pretty out of it's cardboard flip?

    One of my favorite "coins" that I no longer have was an electrotype of a fairly high grade 1813 large cent altered to 1815.

    Does being a fake fake make it real?

    Send it in to PCGS, and if there's a grading crew there with a sense of humor, they'll slab/return it as Details - Questionable Color. :)
