    that medal is pretty cool brg, haven't seen that before.

    this coin has a mini-pegasus on the lower left of the reverse.

    24-23 mm. "reduced as". 13.20 grams.
    When zumbly posted his count, there were no centaurs. Now there are two on one coin.
    Thessalonica, c. 49 BC [according to Crawford, CMRR] , for the outbreak of the civil war. I think of this coin as Republican, not Greek, although you find it under "Greek"in reference works. The obverse type is clearly Republican: Janus head. Reverse:
    Two centaurs, back-to-back, each rearing and holding a branch. Below
    ΘEΣΣAΛO / NIKHΣ in exergue.

    There were two (Gallienus variety) but now there are four. Very interesting coin! Thanks for posting it.
