this coin has a mini-pegasus on the lower left of the reverse.

When zumbly posted his count, there were no centaurs. Now there are two on one coin.
Thessalonica, c. 49 BC [according to Crawford, CMRR] , for the outbreak of the civil war. I think of this coin as Republican, not Greek, although you find it under "Greek"in reference works. The obverse type is clearly Republican: Janus head. Reverse:

Here's two I just happened to have photos of. A phoenix and dragons.

 

I was convinced I didn't have any mythy animals (shocking I know), but I remembered I had this Phoenix pearched on a globe.
