My wife just inherited a boat load of Asian coins what's the best way to get a value on them?

Yes, of course: Welcome to CoinTalk...
Now, please post more images. A whole dining table full (doesn't matter which coins). You say you have "hundreds..."

OP, the Chinese coins, send it in to get graded......the Chinese have faked these really well. You have 4 choices: NGC, PCGS, ANACS, or ICG. Most prefer the first 3 I listed. They will tell you if indeed those chinese coins are real or not. If real, you will get a lot of money for them

    That wouldn't be 'drool'...

Sorry, but I believe this is poor advice. The OP mentioned having tons of coins. The costs would add up quickly for a lot of coins that users here could quickly identify as not genuine. And even the ones mentioned as genuine seem to have a value under $50, which does not make them worth the submission efforts...

Yes, it would be better to find a reputable coin dealer or two who specialize in Chinese coins of this era and get the coins appraised before sending them off to the Third Party Grading companies. The OP would have to pay for the appraisals, but he'd have a better idea of what's most likely reproduction and what's legit. And much cheaper for the large number of coins he says he has.

Seattlite, I'm talking about the Chinese silver crowns he posted. I believe there is like 10+ he posted. Those are worth $$$ if real. If he or others here are unsure if they are real he should have them graded.

I don't personally think the first step to determining if a coin is genuine should ever be to submit to a TPG... I'm happy to agree to disagree here, but felt the OP should hear a dissenting opinion before potentially spending needless money.

Any chance you could start a new thread with Japanese coins? Hate to mix up the countries when there are so many coins.

Does your wife have any interest?

A lot of these Numismatists were clueless when it comes to Chinese coins back then, and a good many still are. So far @AnYangMan has been spot-on with regards to authenticity

If you notice from the first pic, many have four characters on one side and two swirly characters on the other side. Separate all of these and save them for later. There are very limited options for these, so they will be easy to ID when you get to them. Removing them would likely greatly decrease the volume of coins to sort through.

If you live in the northeastern part of the U.S. there will be a large coin show, New York International Numismatic Convention held in New York City at the Grand Hyatt: http://www.nyinc.info/ from January 17th when the public can gain entry.
Last year I took a number of Chinese coins there on behalf of a coin club member to obtain as accurate as possible valuation. There were at least three Chinese/Asian coin specialists with tables there. In addition, there will be coin dealers from Asia, mostly Japan and China attending. Attending this show may give you a more accurate picture of what you have inherited from several different dealers/appraisers.
