For me the Indian/Buffalo nickel - think the Indian on the front and the Buffalo on the reverse would be a super cool design that generates interests outside the coin collecting realm due to the popularity of the coin. I'd buy one.

She used to do political shirts during the election but stays out of politics now. I suggested numismatics to her since I don't see many options available to us.

Any idea needs to pass the test: Why should someone buy what I make rather than sending off for a custom, one of a kind print on demand shirt? Once, it was necessary to buy a large number of shirts to get them printed but, now, we can get what we want for a rather low price. In my opinion, the best coin shirts would be something that a non collector (or a mugger?) would not even recognize as coin related but people 'in the know' would get without any explanation. If I knew what that was 'for me' I would get the shirt made 'for me' and prefer there not be a hundred others of them walking around at the coin show.

Remember the rules involving selling and advertising on CT. If she gets serious , you can post Peter and ask. Jim

A t-shirt with just, KM#1 or what ever your favorite number is, would be enough.

This is a tough sell in a day and age when most serious collectors are not looking to advertise that they collect thereby inviting a robbery. Some might even look over their shoulder to make sure they’re not being followed home from a show. That’s in plain clothes.
Then the argument becomes oh but “I’m just a small time collector.” Well potential thieves will assume you’re a big time collector. I’ve seen stories of people getting shot after getting $20 from an ATM because somebody needed it for drug money. This just isnt a good idea.

Or for that matter, any coin with obv on front and reverse on back and that might resonate or be recognized with/by YNs and others interested. About the Buffalo nickel...I never in my life growing up in CA ever heard it called the Indian Head, or Indian Head 5c...it was always just and only the Buffalo nickel. But at some point later on after re-locating to the midwest, I began seeing/hearing it here/there termed occasionally as an Indian Head. Maybe it was more a geographic/regional thing. Might make "cents."

Lifelong east coaster here. Never knew it by any name other than Buffalo Nickel.
