Also, it will be low kidding when it is "dime/quarter/etc" in your hand if you say so. What I mentioned is 1cent coin, only 1cent... It is different than all others, collection pieces and current circulating coins like dime/etc. No need to say anything when taking 1cent coin out of your pocket and showing it in your hand. When they see it every person will interpreate differently, according to their views/problems/etc, like "luck/chance/fortune/memory/etc", leave how they will react to it to them.

I do so here. I take 1kurus coin out of my pocket and keep it in my hand so that they see and they start making comments/conversations and the rest is easy. However, if they are beggars/thefts/etc who are approaching me for other moneys, they disappear immediately as soon as they see 1kurus coin in my hand. (It may also work for ladies who are preferred to be kept away. However, I'm not experienced in this like you, so, you know it better.)

Key point in your case is that 1cent coin in your pocket is a link between "reality" money/coins that are current circulating money/coins and collected coins. 1cent coin is neither a reality coin nor a collection coin, but also, the both as it is collected/kept only in the pocket and without circulating in the trade. People/guests, non-collectors, are more interested in "reality" moneys/coins. But, they will be confused when they see 1cent coin in your hand... That confusion in them will make a conversation start and the rest, to get them to your coins hanged on the wall etc becomes easy, at least, easier than suddenly taking them to your collection like sudden spot-lighting.

Ps: For where I am from, you can see it from "1kurus coin in my pocket."[/QUOTE]
