I thought that must have been a typo, but no! That's definitely the first depiction of butter I've seen on a coin! :woot:

Sorry to hear about the fake.

My smallest isn't quite as small as most here but that's what happens when you collect the Roman Republic. They didn't get quite as itty bitty as the tiniest Greek issues

According to Hindu mythology, Krishna often stole butter from his mother's butter handi. Not only is this depicted on the coins, but a boulder in India is named after this legend.

Here are a few small Greek bronzes. These are resting on the paper insert for a 2x2 coin flip. The paper is 1.75 inches square:
    Mini Obverse a.jpg
    Mini Reverse a.jpg

The upper right coin has since succumbed to bronze disease. :-( It was infected deep within the coin and no amount of soaking could save it. The others are all fine, I just looked at them today.

The coins were photographed resting on a standard matchbox.

The tiny coins being posted by CT members are fascinating! :wideyed: Those that I’ve posted are not particularly small by comparison but they are the smallest in my Judaean collection. The image is not an actual photo but a composite that I’ve created to approximate the actual size of my coins.
