It is from Mexico, 1713, Assayer J.&nbsp; It did not come from the 1715 Fleet, I believe.&nbsp; The surfaces are not etched, although there are some scratches on the cross side.&nbsp; It might be a beach find.&nbsp; On the other hand it might be an ocean find, located within a group of coins, affording it some protection from the corrosive effects of salt water.&nbsp; There are deposits of sediment in areas, but no corral. </p><p><br /></p><p>This coin was produced during a period where the mint mark is o over X M.
