I recently had a Registered package take two weeks to go 40 miles for $160.00!!! Packaged and shipped from a UPS Store in Jupiter through USPS. It languished in "Mee-am-ma" (as it's called by the born and raised, reallly old Miamians) for 7 days before going to Tampa, Orlando and then routed correctly. Evidently, Registered mail invites a whole host of delays but is the safest and most secure.

Now for a good story about the USPS:
The USPS did find and return a roll of wheat cents one time when I was able to provide images and a description of the roll. It had an 1877 Seated Dime and VDB on the ends. I was surprised to say the least when I got a call from the Atlanta facility asking me what else may have been in the roll. I was kind of confused because I couldn't imagine this happening very often but she said they have mishaps weekly and coins will end up in a pile on the floor. When I told her I couldn't be sure she asked me to speculate and I tried my best since I had won rolls from this seller before. It ended up being one of the best rolls I ever received with a couple of other silver dimes and some VDB's. (The seller only taped the shortest way around the package and didn't tape the long way and evidently, it just popped out going through the machinery. They were relieved they didn't have to issue a credit.)

About a few months ago A small package was brought to me by a neighbor about 6 houses down the road. He was mowing his yard and saw something in the lawnmowers path and since it had my name and address on it he brought it to me un-opened. This LAST Friday 25 June,2021. I went to check my mail just off my porch and saw a letter laying in my yard with my name on it. More mail was in my mail box. Yes Folks the mail system is going to hell in a handbasket.

I live in the Akron area and you are absolutely right. Who did you order from, if you don't mind me asking?
