It is done - my set of the coins of 1795 is as complete as I could hope to achieve. The Gold is missing, of course, but it comprises the major types in copper and silver struck by the mint at Philadelphia in that year. Dang, Eduard.... You certainly own some spectacular early coinage. I love it when you give us a sneak peak at your collection.
I love the flowing-hair stuff. It's unlikely I'll ever own any of it, but I sure do like to see examples from others. Very nice!
This is awesome. Thanks for sharing. Some day I'd like to sell my whole US collection and specialize in something really cool. If I did so, I could put together something similar which I'm excited about. Now I just need to pull the trigger and sell and determine what to specialize in.
Could always go for 1796, the first year in which all the denominations authorized in the Mint act of 1792 were made. Something which didn't happen again until 1849.
I would love to and am not ruling it out. It will depend on finding the 'right coin at the right time'.
Let me try this: The lettered edge is S-75 R-3. The plain edge is S-76b R-1. Awesome coins, and thank you for sharing. Was I right?
