    I think it needs to be said that this is an excellent "oldest coin." It is common and inexpensive while still managing to hail from an area and time period somewhat more interesting than the generic Constantinian junk.

    I agree with Ardy! I think we also failed to mention that this coin comes from the time and place of the famous Greek Scientist, Archimedes. He lived under the rule of Herion II until his death in 212 BC.
