I just checked on the last ten closed auctions for the LP2 mint rolls. They went for an average of $17.42 with free shipping! That's only $3.52 more than ordering directly from the mint. And then the seller has to pay ebay listing, closing fees and few bucks to ship. So they're basically breaking even. So the buzz is almost officially over.

Yeah, the pennies are what started me on my coin collecting, due to a friend of mine. Of course, he started with LP1, well now LP2 has been mass produced and is still selling on the US MINT site, although it is currently backordered. Quick note to everyone (i'm sure you mostly are aware) - at noon eastern tomorrow the 2009 Proof Set. P09 will be available. No limit - and, you get ALL 4 of the new lincoln pennies. (just one each, but still!) I'm sure people will be hoarding these. Also, it's funny - what a way for the Mint to off-load their "extras" ($1 presidential coins, US territory quarters, etc..).
Although - it's not a bad price $29.95 plus shipping for 18 coins, 2 of which are not scheduled to be released for a few more months. ( 2 remaining lincoln pennies)
And yes, I am going to buy a few. :)

There are just a ton on ebay right now, that is why the price has come down. Everyone got theirs from the mint and stuck them on there at the same time. I flipped one of mine and will make a few bucks is all, but I'm waiting on my other one hoping that the glut of these will ease and I can sell my other one......I hope I don't wait too long....
