Hey everyone, After some delays in transit, my Antoninus arrived yesterday. While it is far from perfect, I think it is beautifully struck and surprisingly lustrous. I've been patiently waiting for the right aureus of Antoninus with this particular portrait type. Here is my own photograph of the coin. Admittedly, I'm not the best photographer and my photograph does not do the coin justice. It is however an improvement as it is not orangey like my other gold coins in photos...Anyways here it is! Antoninus Pius (AD 138-161) AV Aureus Date: AD 150-151 Obv: ANTONINVS AVG PI-VS P P TR P XIIII, laureate, draped bust right. Rev: COS IIII, Aequitas standing left, holding scales and cornucopia. Diameter: 20mm Weight: 7.34 grams Mint: Rome RIC III 192d Ex: Numismatica Ars Classica, Heritage
Yes it does! I tried to capture it as accurately as possible....although it has light flow lines which don't seem to appear in the photograph.
