Very nice photo! As for your "beginner questions"-- I don't have any coins from that city and haven't seen many of your type of coin at auction. I'm curious to know what your questions are-- not that I can answer them, but it will be interesting to see what you're wanting to know. I'll send a PM.

@dougsmit I have tried to take close ups like yours with dismal results. I have a 60mm macro lens on a canon 7ds. Husband can pick up incredible details photographing stuff on top of electricity pylons with the 18-55mm with the same camera. It has to be me but I have no idea what to try next!

 

Sometimes it helps to see the failures but I can offer no promises.
