I've been working on this about since January. I've bought everyone one for $1.50. I'm not sure about the 17D though, I bought that while I was a Lost Dutchman. I got 33, and got 43 left. I will probably be able to get them all besides the 16D, the super key date. I really want to put the set in a Wayte Raymond Vintage Folder. Would really "Bidazzle" the set. The Winged Liberty/ Mercury Dime was started in 1916 and ended in 1945. It can be remembered for one of its dates, that is one of the most sought after coin.
If you are going after a rare variety, you'll want this 1919 (Philly) DDO. It was just recently discovered, but only two are known to date. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=8495364&fpart=1 Chris
I have my circulated Mercury set I started and finished when I was a teenager and can honestly say it is one of my most treasured sets. Have fun with the process and I'm sure you'll enjoy your set just as much, if not more. Excellent start you have!
I will say that I never expanded on the Whitman Folder that Dad gave to me as a young one.......I suspect Grandmother had a hand in it too.....
Lucky! I only ever found one merc some many years ago, and my uncle took it. Since then I've found 6 silver dimes, but they're Roosevelts. Difficult finding silver coins these days. But then, I just roll hunt.
