Update: The three coins I sent off to David Sear have been returned, and all three have been given certificates of authenticity. The Balbinus and Diadumenian have been shown before: The third one was a Maximianus antoninianus, nowhere near as valuable as the other two, but ultimately I decided I wanted Sear's opinion on it anyway. I had been unsure about it for several reasons, and am happy it came back with the all-clear. MAXIMIANUS Billon Antoninianus 3.81g, 23.5mm Lugdunum mint, AD 287-289 RIC 458; Cohen 647; Bastien 218 O: IMP C MAXIMIANVS P AVG, helmeted and cuirassed bust right, wearing radiate crown. R: VIRTVTI AVGG, Hercules standing right, strangling Nemean Lion, his club on ground behind. I don't have any other coins from this group that I feel I need to send off to Sear. Six coins, fortunately none of significant value, I'm already either absolutely or reasonably sure are fakes. The other ninety or so I'm confident are authentic. A good lot, all in all :). Thanks again, everyone, for your comments and input!
