Thanks. Most of my Carr high grade issues are 69 at ANACS. One of my Barber fantasy coins did grade as a 70.
It's coming from the past where you've said he's not "copying" anything, and asked how one can "copy" something that supposedly doesn't exist. Yet in the quoted post you gave an example of where the mint had to "copy" what then didn't exist (21 Morgan's prior to their production). It's perfectly relative.... That said, you certainly deserve credit for finally admitting to the obvious.
Again go trolling for a thread where I said that and I'll fully admit I made a mistake if you can find one where the context was as you claim. Oh and do it in a brand new thread you create instead of again thread bombing yet another Carr thread. This is getting old
I asked you a very simple question, and as usual you're turning it into something it doesn't have to be; you're more of a whiny little child that I thought.
From what I have read in this post alone, you're the one acting like a whiny little child. @Cascade is on this thread in support of the OP's new arrival. You're the one who came in here to start your Anti-Carr crap. The only reason you did, is because you don't like the Daniel Carr fantasy issues. You have a right to your opinion and you have expressed it in every way you can. Now shut up and start ignoring these threads. We don't need to hear from you people repeatedly, how you think they are illegal or any other non-sense adjective you want to throw in front of them. The fact is, if they were truly counterfeits, Daniel Carr would be doing time in Federal Prison and there would not be a Moonlight Mint. You don't conduct the business he has been running without contacting a lawyer to make sure everything is kosher. He's done his homework and is following the law. Now ignore every other Carr thread you come across, your ranting about it is not going to change our minds, and we already know your position on it. Enough said...
I received mine on Friday. It has some serious "ghosting" on the reverse. There's also some of the same on the obverse around the date, but not as clear as on the reverse. I like this fantasy piece.
Does ANACS sometimes give these coins a DMPL grade? I have never seen on like that...but one with a DMPL finish would be awesome.
Bernard Von Nothaus ran his NORFED operation with the approval of his attorney... just saying. Now back to the subject of this thread... OP, let us know what ANACS grades it.
And an appeals court ruled for all the confiscated pieces to be returned over a year ago. http://www.coinworld.com/news/preci...return-millions-in-liberty-dollars-.all.html# Only Dan could really answer if any of them would qualify for it but I imagine they would give it the designation if they thought it warranted it.
If I had to make a guess I would guess no so far for this date. His finishes from the his work I have seen are very consistent with whatever they are supposed to be. He did do some proof Morgans in the past with the 1909 O version though
I'm not sure I can good enough pictures, but when I get a moment, I will do that. I can definitely see ghosting around the right side of the eagles wing. It's as if the morgan that DC used for re-strike was in a slightly rotated position. I like it.
And your point? The government apparently allowed people to keep their coins, but it still convicted Von Nothaus of counterfeiting. I never said the pieces were illegal to own. Any criticism in other threads has been directed at the producer and not the consumer.
