David McCarthy wrote an article on the J-2081 Cent for the January 2019 Numismatist, and used my 3-D cross-section photos of the coin to prove that it was struck with a specially-produced high-relief die. Before this study it was thought to have been just a modified standard die. This work changed the coin status from metal trial strike to Pattern.
