I think that picture looks great. I might recommend shooting through a 20x magnifying loupe, that’s what I always do and it really brings out details
Nice group..With a good variety of rulers.. Particularly like the Lucius Verus still an Emperor I've yet to acquire... Congrats on a good year.
Nice group. This is the kind of coins I tend to collect. That Antoninus Pius 900th anniversary coin is interesting - I have the elephant version, but was not aware of the lion. Here's my pachyderm: Antoninus Pius Æ As (148-149 A.D.) Rome Mint [ANTO]NINVS AVG PIVS PP TR P XII Laureate head right / MVNIFICENTA AVG, elephant standing right, COS IIII [SC] in exergue. (900th anniversary of Rome) RIC 862a; RCV 4308. (9.62 grams / 25 mm)
Hip hip hooray for the Sev Alex! Your #1 is on my want list. Congrats on your inaugural year, I hope you get many decades of joy out of the hobby!
Great group, with plenty of Antonine coins! I love the Antonine period and its coinage. My favorites are the Faustina I to which you only gave an "honorable mention," and the denarii of Lucius Verus and Marcus Aurelius with the Providentia reverse types.
You're off to a great start @Bradley Trotter and your collection has great variety! Congrats on your collecting year!
In all honesty, I'm quite surprised about the number of members who've said that the Gallienus antoninianus was their favorite. What drew me to that coin when I purchased it was the portrait style, which admittedly seemed unusually comical for even 3rd century standards. Not to mention, I only paid $6.50 for it, which makes it the second cheapest coin on my list.
