Thanks for posting. I’m still learning the lingo, diameters, weights, etc.

I’ve got a lot of learning to do. Provincial? I understand the meaning of the word, but it was struck in or for a particular region?

Nice slab. I got this one out of my local dealer's junk bin for $0.50 (!). I was thinking about getting it slabbed...G4 or Lousy1.2?

I purchased my last slabbed coin in January of 2022.
I'm done. Definitely don't need any more!

    Nice first coin!

Here is my slabbed ancient Roman collection. I love the compact, convenient storage in these protective cases. The labels correlate to a "Guide Book" that I put together ;)

Now if I could just fill-in all those pesky gaps!

I would love to have a second "career"/ Winter months making data labels for collectors. Its a lot of fun/ plus you get to learn so much more about your coin/ its history/ even things you thought that you knew/ but did not. Out of 1130 raw graded/ 380 TPG/ there were 45 big errors/ either auction house/ TPG grader. All/ ended up in my favour/ since I can catch errors before bidding on said lot. Nest thing with internet/ catalogues/ errors are easy to catch.

Nice Claudius! I always liked him because he was the black sheep of the family but generally a well-liked administrator (maybe because he just wasn't Caligula). I have yet to get a slab of my own, though I don't see it as something very important. It's cool to have something professionally preserved and all, but I don't really have a safe place for them. I prefer 2x2s and flips, I've got a box that's made for them.

I’m very happy with what I’ve learned here and my purchase.

I have no need to start this hobby at 60. Or buy slabs. I certainly don’t want to buy counterfeits. When I’ve gained more knowledge, I’ll probably buy raw.

Yeah for sure, when you're like me without years of experience it's like a minefield. Fortunately for me on a lower budget, the coins I buy are less likely to be counterfeited.

I think I’ll get there relatively quickly. I’m getting a good idea of what I’d like to have graded/slabbed versus album/folder fillers and just cool to have free coins.

I can show you how to get it out of the slab - done it many times.
