Picked up a bunch of radar notes while I was in Thailand for the auction in early August. Finally saw some of the grades. Got my first PMG 69s ever on any note. The 100 baht note carries the rare signature on the left of Predee Daochai who was Minister of Finance for only 26 days.
- That's very uncommon (for a Minister to have such a short career). Who did he offend? Do you know what happened? Great grades BTW. You must be thrilled.
I don't know why so short but he has been Minister in the past so I assume it must have been a fill in for the short time. He did not sigh any 500 or 1000 B bills and I have also been told he didn't sign any 50 B notes, just 20s and 100s. So not sure. I will try to remember to ask when I go back late Nov for the next auction and see if I can find out.
-These short signature combos do happen & its great as a collector to catch them (if you can). Your 100 Baht with the Daochai signature is P-137b(3) according to the BNM & P-137c according to Numista. I hope this helps as its good to be aware of what you have. -When I visited the Philippines in 2019, I noticed former president Aquino III & Tetangco signatures on notes & occasionally found a 20, 50 or 100 pesos wth president Duterte's signature (rags) & a few new ones with his signature + Tetangco or Espenillo. When I got home I made a point of picking up notes (on eBay) with the first "Duterte-Tetangco" signature combo. Sure enough, I discovered a 2016 Duterte Tetangco for the 20 which only make up 1.2% of 20 Pesos entered on Numista (& actually both first signature combinations are tougher than the others).
