Won this beauty tonight at my local coin club meeting. We always have a door prize and cash attendance prize.

    Nice!

I have a few and like the fact that the design changes every year.

Here is a pair from 2014 (privy and non-privy...the Anacs one is AT but looks interesting):

The only coin my daughter collects. The quality is top-notch, and the design changes every year. Very nice prize to win.

Yes, Kooks are my favorite bullion coins, and one of my favorite birds. A while back I bought the entire series of 1oz back to 1990.

    "Kookaburra" is fun to say.

And say what you want about Australians... they know how to name things, uh, "uniquely" ;-)

I'm sorry... It's just freakin' embarrassing to go up to a table and say, "I'd like a Kookaburra."

In an effort to avoid having to say this, one time I "nonverbally" indicated to a female seller at a coin show that I wanted one from her glass case.

She said to me, "You wanna Kookabura?"

I replied, "Hey lady, I'm married. Let's keep this Rated-G. Just sell me the coin!"

As if it doesn't get any weirder in Australian English - thongs in Australia means scandals.
