My first Indogreek tet

    Ive waited a long time for this and I have finally got my hands on one.

    Indo greek, Philoxenos Tetradrachm, ~8g
    100-95BC

    Its a bit roughly cleaned and a chunk is missing. But its still lovely. This reminds me of an old thread on the forum, something along the lines of how low one would go in terms of coin quality haha. Partial coins is a new game in that field.

    I don’t think it is of poor quality, Muhammad! I think it’s quite nice! I don’t have one yet. It’s on my “Oneofthesedays” list ;)

    Ya need to snare an ALEXANDER III of Makedon sometime. He is the one who got all these Indo-Greek kingdoms going.

    Your coins are lovely! its interesting how the zoilus coins art style is cruder than the likes of menander and everyone else

    I also got this lovely antimachos drachm. the obverse is near perfect. The horsy has seen better days

    Nicefind!....This guy can be expensive....I seem to remember reading somewhere that the reverse says something like the undefeatable?

    Yea, the greek says philoxenos the invincible and the kharoshti says undefeatable. Must have been a tough guy.
