Dutch provincial ducats are mostly struck in gold and silver 2 ducats are rare. These 2 ducats are bigger than usual German 2 thalers at around 56g with same dies as single ducats used but with double thick planchets.

I won mine at last week's long beach auction and it is a silver 2 ducats from the province of Zeeland. It is a ex mount, doesn’t show much sign of the mount and fitted in to my budget. I never buy so called problem coins but this one after many days of thought had to be mine There was another problem free 2 silver ducat which sold as three times as much and was out of my range as well as i liked the toning of this one better.
