Very nice! That's an amazing coin for a 61. Often "60 and 61" coins are problem pieces or are actually AU's but this seems to be a genuinely nice unc. Probably a dealer would do resubmissions, trying for a 62 grade. Also a very rare and important type of our 1st gold coins. I used to like eagles but now have been bidding on half eagles (unsuccessfully) as those were the real coins of commerce in the US. -- Congratulations; it looks a lot better than the slab grade.
I agree it’s an amazing coin, but technically it looks more like a “very nice” AU coin which was upgraded to MS.
Thank you everyone. I agree. I turned down a couple MS62s at the same price point because I didn't think they looked as nice. Very happy with this one.
