I understand your point, but do you understand theirs ? Think about it for a minute. NGC slabs about 150,000 coins a month. That means they go thru about 800 - 900 coins an hour every single day. Now if they had to have people who were trained to recognize an error when they saw one look at every single coin that NGC slabbed - how much more time would it take and how much more would it cost ?

That is why they make submitters request error attribution and why they charge for it.

Thanks Jody... Not too often that I actually get something REALLY worth showing off. That nickel has brilliant luster. :)

Please show us yours when they arrive.

    Regards,

    Darryl

I don't have the equipment, or the skills, necessary to make digital pictures and post them on the internet.
What I can do is show you the pictures from the webpages I bought the coins from.

These coins will be for for albums.
I put together sets of nickels, both circulated, and uncirculated.
I've put together many over the years.
That's one of the ways I enjoy my hobby.

Very Nice - Thanks for sharing! That 1965 looks real nice - As it's my birth year that also adds a little extra favor with me :thumb: .

Ok so the nickel arrived finally. Now I know why the guy got the date wrong. That's ok as it will still be a welcome addition to my collection.

    Best Regards,

    Darryl

What did he originally tell you the date was?

Anyway, an 1866 nickel is indeed a cool coin.
    First year issue. New composition.
    Congratulations!

    Listed as a 1856 Nickel :D I obviously knew it was 66.

    Thanks

    Another new purchase...

This looks like one of the better '63-D's I've seen in a while.
I'm hoping to use it as an upgrade.

    Sharp looking nickel Jody!

    Thanks for sharing.

I came across this guy the other day in a group of coins sent to me. Not to bad for a circulated coin. The luster doesn't show up that well in the photo but it has a nice sheen. A couple small dings and only one step left but again not to bad...

    Not bad at all.
If it still has a lot of original mint luster, the steps were never there to begin with.
I can see that there's little, or no wear.
That coin would look nice in a high-end circulated album.
