That's a good point. The internecine struggles never did Roman civilization much good. You could say they were in a perpetual state of civil war.
You are correct Mr Gellienus. It is only conjecture, but I choose to believe it for no other reason than I want to believe. If you are asking about the price of the Cn. Blasio Denarius, I paid $72 incl shipping.
I can't believe I missed this... Great Coin Bing! Also, I need to be picky... I'm trying to learn latin by myself (not an easy task... few speak any latin bar a few famous sayings...)
There's a difference between learning to speak a language and learning to read it. You'll probably never find more than a few people that know Latin well enough to hold a conversation, but a number of scholars can read it fluently. I myself do a pretty good job of reading French and Spanish, but my conversation skills are nil.
Not interesting enough They pretty much were in a perpetual state of civil war... from the start of the Imperatorial Period on Ofcourse!
Hmm, Windchild----Wildwinds. Hmmmm I'm sorry WC, but I think we may have to start referring to you as WW. Let's see if it catches on like Jerry's name
Not going to reply to Bob... Can't be Wildwinds... I don't have that many coins! Please just use WC...
:too-funny: I also love Esoteric knowledge... why else would I like Ancient Coins --> Especially Non-Classical and Carthaginian...
Green... that is both too old and too new for me! I like Classical Style Band Music (esp. Holst)... I play the Tuba, so it is understandable... I also like Dubstep, and the Top 100... really most songs other than RAP...which I hate 99% of! On the Circus Maximus, I've been above where it was! The largest horse racing stadium of Antiquity... one of the Great Stadiums of Antiquity! Coin Picture from Wildwinds, Caracalla AE Sestertius. If you like Holst, you should listen to his most famous composition, The Planets. It's a musical representation of the ancient deities after which the planets are named.
That's what I'm listening to right now Sounds like it would be fun to play... I'm playing the First Suite in E Flat Right now in Band...
Wondering... Should I put this is the Best of Type Gallery at Forvm? I can't find any better at Forvm (using the search on the gallery) or Google (under Carthage coin, Punic coin, Punic Sicily coin)...
