My post office does it. I check informed delivery frequently and use the package dashboard for tracked items. Tracked automatically load if they enter the postal system with the name and address associated with your MYUSPS account. This covers most Ebay items if there is no issue with the printed label. In some cases the printed scan done by the seller is bad so they won't scan into the system. Tracked items generally don't appear in the informed delivery tab for mail items. Any coins sent via mail without tracking don't show up on either tab. The informed delivery mail items don't show any envelopes that would be thick enough to contain a coin. There has been a note that indicates something to the effect that "the image for another item scheduled for delivery today is not available."I had a 2007 $8.00 Canada commemorative Ebay purchase from a seller in Canada show up today nowhere to be found in informed delivery or the package dashboard. That is typical for me for coins sent without tracking. That has just been my experience for the MYUSPS site. Your experience may differ.
@Muzyck I have gotten some coins in envelopes with no tracking that did not show on informed delivery(I just read the email they send I don't login) but for the most part they do show, just today I got two envelopes from canada with coins in them that showed on informed delivery email. I guess it is a hit or miss game?
You can file a report, having the document would certainly help and speed up the process/get them to take you more seriously but until a court tells them otherwise that will generally be the end of the banks involvement in the matter. Perfectly understandable. Everyone would expect that to be coming with tracking No different than everything else in life.
