One day I needed to run a variety of errands and got home a little later than I had hoped. When I went to let the dogs out for a potty break, I noticed a pile of shredded paper and quarters on the den couch. About a year and a half ago my wife and kids visited the local SPCA and came home with Daisy. She is a sweet dog, but we really need to stop visiting the pound. (No, not really). </p><p><br /></p><p>My wife and I have matching recliner chairs in the den. When I am sitting in my chair with the foot-rest raised, Daisy likes to nap between my feet. When she isn’t with me, she is either on the foot-rest of my wife’s chair or on the couch that she seems to have adopted.</p><p><br /></p><p>[ATTACH=full]1526619[/ATTACH] </p><p><br /></p><p>I like to do my coin searches while relaxing in my chair. I have an end table to hold all the coin paraphernalia (coins to search, paper wrappers, computer, loupe, various containers, microscope, etc.). Daisy caught the coin collecting bug. Seeing her chance while I was out, she snagged a roll of quarters off the end table, took it to her couch and went through them. </p><p><br /></p><p>When I cleaned up the mess she made, I only found $9.75. Clearly she found a quarter she wanted for herself. I just know it was a “W” mint; Daisy knows how excited I get when I find a West Point minted quarter.</p><p><br /></p><p>Legend has it that animals temporarily gain the power to talk at midnight on Christmas eve.
