HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Fitz => you rock!! (love your sense of humour) ahahaha => 145, 165 lbs .... gawd, I was was ripped in grade-10 and weighing-in at 175!! Now that I'm an adult human, I weigh closer to 213 pounds (yah, I admit that I should probably be closer to 190-200) Ehhh, I'd better start this year's mountain-bike routine, eh? ... sick of me, yet?!
My first and favourite Siliquae! It was also my first coin that I posted on Coin talk. Magnus Maximus AR Siliqua Trier mint 383-388 CE 2.05 Grams Due to the weight it is likely that this coin was struck in the first year or two of Maximus's reign. After 384 his Siliquae take a nose dive in weight; this can be explained due to the fact that he needed all the money that he could get his hands on. The reasons for this are that he only ruled a third of the Empire, and it was the poorest third. Contemporary historians complain that taxes were very high in Maximus's territories but that it was not squandered on frivolous crap, it was used to mantain the frontiers, rebuild infrastructure, and pay the bureaucracy and army.
Steve how tall are you? If you're like 6 foot 5 inches then that wouldn't be to bad Now if you are short like me (5ft7in) then you may need to hit the biking trail!
happy CT birthday FN! i've been here over 3 years, had to go back and look at my old post to see exactly when it was. here's the first coin i posted here, a fantasy modern byzantine fake i got in an uncleaned lot.... man, sometimes i miss my old gnarly table. not really.
ahhhh, memories (that was a great, loyal ol' table) I came here 3.5 years ago => I was merely one of many CT baby-boomers that arrived that same month (we were like migrating cattle) ... or maybe more like a herd of wildebeest?
Happy CT Birthday! I wore size 30 in highschool, still wear that today. Walking 260+kilometers a week helps, plus do weight training in Winter(my time off)
Well, I thought I was doing well with my weight. I recently lost 30 pounds without any explanation. Without going into the medical details, I was hospitalized and one of the hospital doctors wrote in "patient is obese". REALLY? I'm 6'1" and weigh 201. I wonder what he calls a really fat person. I wonder what he might have called me before I lost the 30 pounds.
He was wrong from a current standards and coding perspective. Your body mass index is 26.5, just slightly in the overweight category (and the chart may be revised upwards soon so that a slightly higher BMI is considered normal weight). Currently, BMI of 25-29.9 is "overweight", with the clinical term "obese" beginning at BMI 30 and above (with varying degrees of severity beyond that).
I am surprised by the BMI's too. I have lost 35 lbs since Feb. (doing it for my health.) I am power-walking, and eating more correctly. I am not doing anything to punish myself, as I am "too old" to waste my time not enjoying life. I am "overweight" according to BMI at 27.9. However, a couple years ago, I got down to 5lbs (2 kg) BELOW my High School graduating weight, when I was VERY active in sports and training. I was JUST at BMI 24. I stayed that way for a year, but it was work to stay at that 24 BMI. I think the BMI scale is a bit off. I would like to be at a weight and BMI that I can maintain AND enjoy life without it being a 24-hour ordeal. At my age and health, it would be very difficult. However, I am shooting for a 25... Oh, and RANDOM COIN for making my post honest... Guess for fun...
HAPPY CT-BIRTHDAY, Fitz Steve, Like your herd. My first boss at my current company gave me some sage advise for dealing with the Czar of our small company, "Cross en mass." He was referring to telling the big guy something he did not want to hear. Most of you will make it to the other side when in a large group. Results may be different going it alone!
I am 5.11, weigh 170, body fat=11 percent. However, I still put down 4000+ calories a day. Lucky for me, I have a profession that forces me to burn off all those calories. When, I am off work all Winter, I keep busy with snowmobiling, walking the dog, lifting weights. Only time I am sedate is when I check auction sites for new coin additions!
Kind of funny, I'm 15, and probably bigger and fatter than most of you guys. I'm 15, but I weigh 220, and I'm 6 feet 5 inches tall (195.5 cm), still growing. Tallest kid in my high school and I'm still a freshman. I always get mistaken for a adult.
