so my coin club held nominations for office last month and i was nominated and the person i was running against volunteered to run. well coin club was tonight. Him and i were asked to leave the room wile voting for us was takeing place. We went back in and i was congrated as beign the new vice president. Im not sure what they see in me but i beat a guy whos been in the club 30+ years and ive only been there almost a year.
lol im not sure everything that im required to do yet. but i know i have to second motions run the meeting if the president isent able to make it and other business of the club type stuff. I know ill have to participate alot more now but i see that as a good thing that will help me with my shyness to groups of people,
Congrats! At my club(s) we can barely get people to volunteer for positions. I am the Treasurer and auctioneer for one, Auctioneer for the other.
Congrats! I used to be the VP of my local coin club, now I'm the President! Can be lots of fun, but it can be lots of work too. Good luck!!
i wouldnt want to be the Treasurer theres to much money involved. the Treasurer at my club is the auctioneer thanks all
It isn't funny if you fail to attend a meeting that included an election of organizational officers, and receive Presiding officer congratulatory calls from quorum attendees It's happened twice in 2 different organizations, so know when elections are held. You may acquire more activities than time allows. JMHO
I would if I knew more people that collect coins in my area. I might ask my coin dealer. We only have 1 coin shop in our town.
Might or might not be a good idea, but a Craigslist post asking for folks to show an interest might be a cheap and effective way of gauging interest.
