He will be one of the worst emperor in roman history for starting a wasteful war with Parthians and killing thousands just for mocking him in murder of his brother Geta. Please share your coins of this tyrant . here is mine with his youthful bust...
@7Calbrey nice tet with interesting bust I noticed on so many of Antioch or Egypt tets his bust looked very fat for some reason.
I like this one because he really looks like the thug he was! And this little provincial assarion from Nicopolis ad Istrum because it has a lion on the reverse:
@Roman Collector Yes totally thug haha I love this bust with beard and thug look I yet have to find a nice coin with this bust to get!
Here is a Sestertius of an older Caracalla who might have felt some regret for his earlier misdeeds, for in 215 he found time to visit the famous shrine of Asklepios in the city of Pergamum in the hope of finding cures for his numerous ailments, as his physical and mental health had begun to deteriorate. Ancient historians state that the reason for this visit was because he sought healing and relief from dreams in which he was being chased by his father Septimus Severus and brother Geta, whom he had murdered. Cool kid Caracalla @arashpour! Usually I loves me some scoundrels. Tibs, Caligs, Nero, heck even Caracalla's "son" Ela-fabulous (just thought that one up myself) all entertain me. But I don't even love to hate Caracalla. Despite a wealth of d-baggery he's just a meh for me. Wonder what draws our interest or ire towards some and disinterest or complacency toward others? Anywho, here's what I've got on the eldest son of Septimius. Caracalla 198-217 AD Silver Denarius (2.91 gm) Rome Mint Obv: ANTONINVS PIVS AVG ; Laureate draped bust right.
