I don't get them by the box...I just don't have the money. How many rolls are in a box and do you get them right from your bank?
a box of half dollars have 50 rolls, and is $500. you have to ask the bank to order a box for you, and they will sent the request into the feds and they will send the box out to the bank. when the box arrives, they will call you. i know all of this just by reading!
I spent my mom's seated liberty on a go-cart ride when I was 14. Been trying to make up for it ever since. totally true.
That's awesome...I do the same thing at my bank. For those of you who can't find Kennedy's at your bank you should ask the bank manager to order them for you. Not all banks will do this but here in Maryland I use Chevy Chase Bank. They are like a Gold Mine because they have to order the rolls in bulk, so the Kennedy's come in packs of 50 rolls, or $500, and you can also order the state quarter rolls when they come out as well as the presidential dollar rolls. We all know that dealers and auctioneers all try to sell these new rolls well over their actual roll value and this is the best place to get them at cost. It's definitely worth a shot to ask at your local banks to order them for you because I too have found 3 Walking Liberty halves, 7 Franklin Halves, and about 2 dozen '64-'69 Kennedy's. What I do is buy a box of 50 rolls of Kennedy's for $500, go through them, pick out the silvers and clads, roll them back up and take them to a different bank branch and get another box at the first branch. Try it out!
the only drawback for it to me is that i don't have $500 cash. if i had it, trust me, i would search them. i guess if i save my money, i can get $500 in 2 months.:goofer:
