Both bills have the same serial number but that&#039;s not the error. They are from the same sheet and the plate numbers are different. The bill on the top is plate number 5 while the lower bill is plate number 6. The Treasury&#039;s signature from plate number 5 runs onto plate number 6. Again, that&#039;s not the error.</p><p><br /></p><p>The top bill has both hand written serial numbers of 69771. The bottom bill is the error note. The left serial number is 69771 but the serial number on the top right is different. It was hand written as 6977. The last digit, a 1 was left off. This is a wonderful note and a rare error.</p><p><br /></p><p>It&#039;s rare to have 2 bills with the same serial number, the signature on one note being on both notes and two plate numbers in sequence.
