I was going to guess Columbian Half Dollar, but I'm with TomB since I think providing the mintage made it easy... but I'll say Hawaiian Dollar to be different.

If you didn't provide the mintage we could have guessed coins designed by Barber's father, William Barber, like the Trade Dollar or Twenty Cent piece... not sure those are part of a "Barber" type set though

Can't sneak much past TomB and Illini.... It's a Hawaii Dollar, and a great looking XF40 if I do say so myself.

Nice coin! I just purchased the HI half dollar that was offered on the PCGS BST. My coin is also an EF40, but appears a bit darker than your piece. These are quite cool, aren't they?

I love them all sparrow..! Thanks for sharing, indeed.

And I concur with Steve... hunt down a nice V-Nickel too!

Schweet, and it fits in perfectly with your Charles Barber theme!

I just went back to look at Don's thread on the PCGS boards and I see that it was his coin. Now we know where the dollar and half dollar went.

Thanks, sparrow! I love yours too. Even measly and unloved MS62 coinage (our dimes) can be beautiful, eh?

I'm going to guess that you bought another Barber Half, either a 1904-S or a 1913-D. Warm?

Edit - wow, that was fast. I'm COLD! I type a response and then, BAM, a bunch of new posts come in. Congrats!

I bought the cent and the dollar. The cent deserves its own thread, IMO. A very cool coin. I have been looking for the dollar for a long time. They often show up on Teletrade, but they are either MS and way out of my price range, or cleaned and abused circ examples. Don really picked out a nice one, and I am fortunate to be able to "profit" (in terms of my collection, not my wallet) from his discerning eye.

Nice pickup on the half, TomB. If I had the funds I might have scooped that up too. Don's dimes looked really nice as well.

This is one time that you might not have been able to scoop up the coin even with the funds as I happened to log on just as Don wrote the thread and my PM was sent to him within one minute of his post. Yes, I am a geek and have nothing else in my life.:( A dark, original EF HI half has been on my virtual want list (which by the way has very few coins on it) for a while and the coin he listed was everything I was looking for so it was easy to pull the trigger.

I guess you're right because I deliberated for a little while before pm'ing Don. I'm glad the half has found a good home. These(Hi silver issues) are very cool and I feel lucky to have one in my collection now.

I agree... there are some really cool lower MS and AU coins out there if you're patient and look past the grade on the holder (I was too impatient and too much of a newbie when it came to my half, oh well..)
