Hello everyone I would like to show off my collection of anceint coins and how it has come along, these coins have been gifted to me by @Sallent @Valentinian and @Deacon Ray they have been so generous and kind to me in gifting me these items. I have not been able to add any myself unfortunately because I cannot order items. (Currently). I am still attributing the coins in the black foam filled box (those were gifted to me by @Valentinian). The Ancient chinese and Constatine II were a gift from @Sallent. And the 4 in the Saflips along with the book (which has helped me greatly in attributing and helped me understand alot about ancient coins, I have also read the entire novel not just used it as a reference). So here it is! (Again I thank you all for your generosity) (Please excuse my chicken scratch writing I have all of the info saved typed up) (And bad pictures, sorry) Thanks, Jacob
@Sallent like what @Smojo posted I have modern silver but I believe one of the coins @Valentinian gave em is silver it is here in the top left of these pictures. Yes, your correct except for one which I think is silver. Thanks, Jacob
Looks like late Roman billon antoninianus. I don't know why, but based on what little I can see I would not be surprised if that was Saloninus, which would make the coin circa 260 CE, and probably 20% silver.
The V is silver as far as the buffalos go I'm not really sure, I never got that much into them. I only knew you would appreciate them more than I did. And as Gerard said, if you need anything don't hessitate to ask. Edited I hav loads of 2 x 2's if you need
Thank you very much Gerard I'm set on everything I belive I'm currently using my mother's old Jewelers loupe. Thanks anyways! Thanks Sallent I was really stumped there so I'll start looking into "Roman Billion Antoninianus" and "Saloninus" to try and attribute it! Thank you. Haha thank you very much Smojo I'm set on supplies like I said earlier in this post and I have about 300 cardboard 2x2 flips left. Thank you so much! Thanks, Jacob
Looks like you have a great set of coins with a lot of variety, that's a great book you have there as well. Congrats.
Why thank you so much! I'm very proud of it it's so cool and interesting! And it wouldn't be without those who have helped me! (You (DR) Valentinian and Sallent) I show it off to alot of people! They are like "what!!???" "That's so cool I didn't know they existed!" Thanks, Jacob
