My 20-21st Century Type Collection (so far)

So, I was experimenting with a new camera/lighting setup in order to photograph my coin collection, and decided to share my 20-21st Century type set. This has been a 10+ year journey (saving up for the highest quality coins I could afford), with lots more to add: still need an UNC/MS Indian cent, Barber dime/quarter/half dollar, SLQ, Walking Liberty, and a CC Morgan.

Here's some of my faves (yes, I have a thing for reverse-proofs!):

    1909-S -VDB Lincoln Cent.jpg 1959 Lincoln Cent.jpg 2019-W Lincoln Cent.jpg 1944 War Nickel.jpg 2018-S Roosevelt Dime.jpg 1932 Washington Quarter.jpg 1965 Washington Quarter.jpg 1959 Franklin Half Dollar.jpg 2018-S Kennedy Half Dollar.jpg 2018-S Innovation Dollar.jpg
Tried to capture the fields on the proofs, but getting shiny things to focus & balance out has proven tricky. Cheers.

Thanks, Sal - I have been messing with the lighting, and just can't seem to get the contrast right. It's either too bright, or you can't see the reflectivity of the fields.

I guess it just takes practice. :)

No program - just my iPhone 12. I'm using a "selfie" light and a 4" rubber coupling tube. Saw the setup on Coin Help U (You Tube video), and thought I'd try it out.

I have Photoshop & Lightroom, but don't want to be accused of altering/doctoring images.

How’s this? Reduced exposure and brightness

    Yours first and mine second

I might try putting a filter around the ring light - that might help mute the brightness somewhat.

That is MUCH better - I guess I will run them through Photoshop (for exposure & brightness) - thanks!

You can also go the end other end by increasing contrast.

Gonna be honest, I’m just using my iPhone SE native photo editor! I’m an “expert” in fiddling around with photos :)
